As demand for advanced wireless connectivity continues to grow in the enterprise space, Ericsson has deepened its partnership with global technology distributor Westcon-Comstor to ramp up deployment of its 5G enterprise solutions across Australia and New Zealand.
The agreement marks a regional extension of the two companies’ existing collaboration in Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Under the new arrangement, Westcon-Comstor will distribute Ericsson Enterprise Wireless Solutions— including Cradlepoint routers, NetCloud management software, and enterprise-grade 5G systems — through its extensive partner ecosystem of resellers, systems integrators, and managed service providers.
Phil Cameron, managing director of Westcon-Comstor Australia, said the expanded partnership is a strategic move to bring Ericsson’s high-performance wireless technologies to a broader enterprise audience. “After seeing strong traction in Asia, we’re excited to accelerate momentum in key markets like Australia and New Zealand,” he noted.
The product suite being distributed supports a range of network architectures, including public and private 5G and satellite connectivity, and is designed with zero-trust security principles via a secure access service edge (SASE) framework. This versatility positions Ericsson’s solutions as alternatives to traditional wired infrastructure — particularly attractive for enterprises undergoing digital transformation.
Westcon-Comstor plans to back the rollout with a full stack of value-added services including training, enablement, and analytics-led guidance. According to Dave Rosenberg, managing director of Westcon-Comstor New Zealand, the initiative will help partners tap into new revenue streams and business models. “Ericsson’s enterprise portfolio allows our partners to break into new verticals and use cases, such as industrial IoT and edge networking, that may have previously been out of reach,” Rosenberg said.
Julie Hens, senior vice president for global distribution at Ericsson Enterprise Wireless Solutions, emphasized that enterprise connectivity in A/NZ is undergoing rapid evolution. “We’re seeing 5G become not just a substitute for traditional connections but a core enabler of business transformation,” she said.
With this regional expansion, both Ericsson and Westcon-Comstor are betting that private 5G will move from niche to mainstream in the coming years, driven by demand for high-speed, secure, and scalable enterprise connectivity. For local partners, the opportunity lies in being early movers in an ecosystem where network infrastructure is increasingly software-defined and service-centric.
