As wealth management firms accelerate digital transformation, the technology platforms behind them are facing growing pressure to evolve just as quickly. Avaloq is strengthening its product leadership for that next phase, appointing Nidhi Singh as Chief Product and Development Officer and a member of its Group Executive Board.
Effective September 7, Singh will take responsibility for Avaloq’s global product strategy, product management, development and engineering functions. Her appointment comes as the Switzerland-based financial technology company advances its Mid-Term Plan 2030 and develops the next generation of technology supporting banks and wealth managers.
Nidhi Singh Joins Avaloq’s Executive Leadership
Based at Avaloq’s headquarters in Zurich, Nidhi Singh will oversee the strategy and execution behind the company’s global product portfolio.
Her responsibilities will bring product and engineering leadership together, giving her oversight of the roadmap that determines how Avaloq’s technology develops as financial institutions respond to changing customer expectations and an increasingly digital wealth management environment.
Singh brings more than two decades of experience in product development and large-scale transformation initiatives to the position.
She joins Avaloq from Charles River Development, where she served as Chief Product Officer. In that role, she led product strategy, product marketing and product management across institutional investing, wealth management and private markets.
That experience puts her directly within the financial technology ecosystem Avaloq serves and gives her familiarity with the challenges facing large financial institutions as they modernize their technology.
Product Strategy Takes a Central Role
Singh’s appointment comes at an important stage in Avaloq’s longer-term strategy.
The company is working toward its Mid-Term Plan 2030, with product development and technological innovation positioned as important components of its future growth.
For Avaloq, that means continuing to develop technology that allows wealth managers and financial institutions to modernize operations while responding to changing regulatory, competitive and customer requirements.
Singh will be responsible for translating those priorities into the company’s product roadmap and coordinating the development and engineering functions needed to deliver it.
Bringing these responsibilities under one executive also creates a clearer connection between product strategy and the technology teams responsible for building and improving Avaloq’s solutions.
Supporting Digital Transformation in Wealth Management
The wealth management industry has been undergoing a broader technology shift.
Clients increasingly expect digital access, faster services and more personalized experiences, while financial institutions need systems capable of managing increasingly complex operations and regulatory requirements.
At the same time, developments in cloud computing, automation, data analytics and artificial intelligence are creating new opportunities for wealth management platforms.
For technology providers such as Avaloq, the challenge is to introduce those capabilities without compromising the reliability and security required by financial institutions.
Singh’s experience leading product organizations and transformation programs will therefore be important as Avaloq determines where new technologies fit within its wider platform strategy.
Martin Greweldinger Points to Transformation Experience
Martin Greweldinger, Chief Executive Officer of Avaloq, said Singh’s experience leading major product organizations and complex transformation programs will be important as the company executes its roadmap.
Her appointment also forms part of a planned leadership transition.
Fabio Baj is stepping down from Avaloq’s Group Executive Board after playing a significant role in the development of the company’s product strategy and software capabilities.
Avaloq said it will continue to benefit from Baj’s expertise, providing continuity as Singh assumes responsibility for the company’s global product and development organization.
The transition gives Avaloq an opportunity to build on its existing product foundations while bringing new leadership into one of the company’s most strategically important functions.
Shaping the Next Generation of Wealth Technology
Singh’s appointment also reflects the increasingly strategic role of product leadership within enterprise financial technology companies.
Product executives are no longer responsible simply for deciding which features come next. Their role increasingly sits at the intersection of technology, customer requirements, business strategy and long-term transformation.
That is particularly true in wealth management, where technology platforms often support critical processes across investment management, client servicing and operations.
Singh said her focus will be on shaping Avaloq’s product strategy and roadmap while working with clients, partners and employees to develop technologies for the future of wealth management.
Her experience working with institutional and wealth management businesses should provide useful context as Avaloq continues adapting its platform to the changing requirements of financial institutions.
Avaloq Prepares for Its Next Phase
The appointment gives Avaloq a new executive responsible for connecting its product ambitions with the development and engineering capabilities needed to deliver them.
As the company progresses toward its 2030 objectives, Singh will play a central role in determining how its technology evolves and how quickly new capabilities can move from strategy into products used by financial institutions.
For Avaloq, the leadership transition is therefore about more than replacing one executive.
It represents an opportunity to align product, development and engineering around a common roadmap as the wealth management industry moves further into its next phase of digital transformation.
