Colt Data Centre Services Appoints Quy Nguyen as CEO to Lead Next Phase of Digital Infrastructure Growth

As demand for AI and cloud infrastructure continues to reshape the data centre industry, Colt Data Centre Services is strengthening its leadership for its next phase of expansion. The company has appointed Quy Nguyen as Chief Executive Officer, bringing a long-standing internal leader into the role at a time when digital infrastructure is becoming increasingly critical to enterprise technology.

Quy Nguyen Takes the CEO Role at Colt DCS

Colt Data Centre Services has appointed Quy Nguyen as Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately, following a succession process by the company’s Board of Directors.

Nguyen has served as Acting CEO since April 2026, following the retirement of former CEO Niclas Sanfridsson. His appointment gives Colt DCS a leader with extensive knowledge of the company’s customers, commercial operations and global growth strategy.

Nguyen joined Colt DCS in 2016 and has held several senior positions across sales and marketing, customer experience, design and delivery. Most recently, he served as Chief Sales Officer, where he focused on strengthening the company’s commercial strategy and building deeper relationships with customers.

Before joining Colt DCS, Nguyen held leadership positions across finance, strategy and general management. That combination of commercial and operational experience gives him a broad view of the business as he takes responsibility for its next stage of growth.

Leading Growth as AI Infrastructure Demand Accelerates

Nguyen’s appointment comes as the data centre industry faces growing demand from cloud computing, artificial intelligence and other data-intensive technologies.

Colt DCS currently has nearly 800MW of capacity under development across key global markets. The company operates data centres supporting hyperscalers and large enterprises, while continuing to expand its infrastructure across Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.

The growing use of AI is creating new requirements for digital infrastructure, including greater capacity, reliability and connectivity. Data centre operators are therefore becoming an increasingly important part of the technology ecosystem supporting AI and cloud adoption.

For Colt DCS, the opportunity is not simply about adding capacity. The company is also focused on building infrastructure that can support customers as their technology requirements continue to change.

A Leadership Change Built Around Customer Growth

The company said Nguyen’s experience with its customers and internal teams was a key factor in the Board’s decision.

Tim Cohen, Chairman of Colt DCS, highlighted Nguyen’s leadership during a period of significant growth and transformation, pointing to his understanding of the company’s customers, people and operations.

That experience could be particularly important as Colt DCS continues to scale its global platform. With customers increasingly looking for infrastructure that can support cloud, AI and other emerging workloads, the company’s commercial and operational execution will become increasingly important.

Nguyen’s previous role as Chief Sales Officer also gives him direct experience with the commercial side of this transition. His move into the CEO position brings that customer-focused perspective into the company’s broader growth strategy.

Expanding a Global Data Centre Platform

Colt DCS currently has 15 operational data centres, with another 12 sites under development across nine cities in the UK, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.

The company has more than 25 years of experience in the data centre industry and provides infrastructure for global hyperscalers and large enterprises. Its services include secure and connected data centre environments designed to support customers’ long-term capacity requirements.

The company’s expansion is also taking place alongside a growing focus on sustainability. Colt DCS has established near-term and long-term science-based targets aimed at reducing emissions and aligning its operations with its broader net-zero ambitions.

Building Infrastructure for the AI Era

AI is changing the scale and type of infrastructure that businesses require. As companies deploy more AI workloads, the underlying data centre environment needs to provide sufficient capacity, resilience and connectivity while also addressing energy and sustainability considerations.

This puts data centre operators such as Colt DCS in a strategic position within the broader technology market. Their infrastructure increasingly supports the systems that power cloud applications, enterprise platforms and AI services.

For Nguyen, the CEO appointment comes with an opportunity to build on Colt DCS’s existing platform while continuing to expand into markets where demand for digital infrastructure is accelerating.

A New Phase for Colt Data Centre Services

Nguyen’s appointment represents more than a change at the top. It comes at an important point for Colt DCS as the company expands its global footprint and responds to rising demand for infrastructure capable of supporting AI and cloud growth.

With a leadership team focused on commercial execution, customer relationships and infrastructure expansion, Colt DCS is positioning itself to play a larger role in the digital infrastructure market.

As AI workloads continue to grow across Europe and Asia, the company’s ability to scale capacity while maintaining reliability and sustainability will be central to its next phase of development.
