HR Crowd expands NSW footprint with new practice director Ben Bach

Human capital management (HCM) technology consultancy HR Crowd has appointed Ben Bach as its New South Wales (NSW) practice director, as the firm accelerates regional growth and reinforces its leadership capabilities in Australia’s largest state economy.

Bach, a seasoned SAP SuccessFactors expert with nearly two decades of experience in HCM transformation, will be based in Sydney and play a central role in expanding HR Crowd’s presence in NSW. His remit includes driving commercial growth, enhancing client engagement, and contributing to the development of national consulting practices.

The appointment is part of a wider push by HR Crowd to deepen leadership presence across Australia and New Zealand, where it offers end-to-end HCM transformation services — from roadmap planning and solution selection to implementation and innovation — leveraging technologies such as SAP SuccessFactors and SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform).

Bach joins from NTT Data Business Solutions, where he led the SuccessFactors practice, and brings a resume that includes leadership roles at Deloitte Consulting, Presence of IT, and UK-based consultancies including IBM, Centrica, Capgemini, and Cartesis.

According to HR Crowd, Bach’s addition signals a new chapter of investment in NSW as the firm aligns closer to its client base and builds capability in one of its most active regions. His appointment brings additional strategic firepower to a practice that works in concert with HR Crowd’s Northern, Southern, and New Zealand practices, alongside its specialist streams in advisory, technology and innovation, and time management.

“We’ve seen strong and sustained momentum in NSW and Ben’s appointment reflects our commitment to scaling in line with that growth and deepening our leadership presence in a market that’s been a core part of our business,” said Judith Carelsen, co-CEO of HR Crowd. “Ben brings energy, depth and a fantastic balance of strategic and delivery capability to our leadership team at exactly the right time in our journey.”

Adrian Everett, the firm’s other co-CEO, echoed the sentiment: “NSW is a cornerstone of our integrated A/NZ model. It plays a critical role in how we support our clients and scale our impact across sectors and states. Ben’s appointment reflects our long-term strategy to deepen leadership, accelerate client value and build regional capability in the markets where we’re most active.”

For Bach, the decision to join HR Crowd was driven by its combination of specialist HR and payroll expertise, collaborative culture, and bold vision.

“There’s a clear ambition here to do things differently,” he said. “It’s a unique opportunity to work with an exceptional team that truly understands how to align HCM transformation with broader business strategy — and deliver results that matter.”
