Informotion Appoints Shane Parsons as CEO to Accelerate Microsoft and AI Transformation Strategy

Australian information management and digital transformation firm Informotion has appointed Shane Parsons as its new Chief Executive Officer, signaling a strategic push to deepen its Microsoft capabilities and expand its footprint across key international markets.

Parsons, who took on the role in July last year, brings more than 25 years of leadership experience in the IT and consulting sector. Since assuming the position, he has overseen a significant acceleration in Informotion’s Microsoft-focused investments, with the company doubling its commitment to the ecosystem and achieving Microsoft Solution Partner status in less than three months.

The appointment reflects Informotion’s broader ambition to evolve from a traditional records and information management consultancy into a Microsoft-led, AI-ready transformation partner for enterprises navigating data, compliance, and digital modernization challenges.

Under Parsons’ leadership, Informotion plans to sustain its investment in Microsoft technologies while pursuing organic growth across Australia, the United Kingdom, and Ireland. The company sees these regions as strategic markets where demand is rising for cloud migration, data governance, and AI-enabled business platforms.

Before joining Informotion, Parsons served as Head of Microsoft Consulting at Nexon Asia Pacific, where he led enterprise Microsoft programs across the region. He has also held senior leadership roles at KPMG Australia, where he was Microsoft Director, and at SMS Management & Technology, where he led the company’s Microsoft business group.

Earlier in his career, Parsons worked with technology and consulting firms including NEC, CSG Technology Solutions, Aaromba Technologies, and opportunIT, building deep expertise across enterprise systems, cloud platforms, and digital transformation initiatives.

Informotion said Parsons’ appointment represents a pivotal shift in the company’s strategic direction, aligning its long-standing strengths in information governance with emerging opportunities in artificial intelligence, automation, and data-driven decision-making.

According to Parsons, many organisations continue to struggle with AI adoption because foundational data and governance frameworks are often overlooked.

He noted that successful AI implementation depends on trusted, well-managed, and well-understood data environments. Without these foundations, companies risk wasting significant resources on initiatives that fail to deliver meaningful business outcomes.

Informotion’s heritage in records management and information governance positions it to address these challenges by helping clients move from fragmented data environments to structured, compliant, and innovation-ready platforms.

As enterprises increasingly adopt Microsoft-based cloud and AI solutions, Informotion aims to position itself as a trusted partner that connects governance, security, and analytics with practical transformation outcomes.

With Parsons at the helm, the company is focused on strengthening its consulting capabilities, expanding its partner ecosystem, and delivering end-to-end digital modernization services that support long-term business resilience and growth.
