NAB appoints Inder Singh as new Group CFO and Group Executive, Strategy

National Australia Bank (NAB) has strengthened its leadership ranks with the appointment of Inder Singh as Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Group Executive, Strategy, effective March 2026.

The announcement was made by NAB’s Group CEO Andrew Irvine, who highlighted Singh’s breadth of experience across global financial services and investment banking.

“Inder is a seasoned CFO with both international and domestic expertise, and a proven track record of execution. His appointment clearly adds further depth to our senior executive team,” Irvine said.

Singh has served as CFO of QBE Insurance Group since 2018, where he played a key role in driving transformation, investment strategy, and technology initiatives in a highly regulated sector. Prior to QBE, he spent significant time at Deutsche Bank and UBS in both Australia and overseas, advising banks on strategy, M&A, and capital structures.

In his new role at NAB, Singh will oversee all Finance functions as well as Strategy and Group Development. Commenting on the move, he said:

“This is the ideal next step for me, and I am delighted to be joining NAB to work with Andrew and the leadership team. NAB’s ambition to be the most customer-centric bank in Australia and New Zealand was a major attraction. Banking, like insurance, is highly competitive, and putting customers first is the most important consideration.”

Singh will be based in Sydney, and his appointment remains subject to regulatory approvals.

Meanwhile, Shaun Dooley, who has been acting Group CFO since March 2025, will return to his permanent role as Group Chief Risk Officer once Singh assumes his new post. Irvine acknowledged Dooley’s contribution, noting his leadership during the transition period had demonstrated the strength and depth of NAB’s executive bench.

The appointment comes as NAB continues to sharpen its long-term growth strategy, reinforcing its focus on financial strength, technology investment, and customer-centric transformation.
