Omnicom Media has appointed Ricky Chanana as Senior Vice President, Commercial for Asia, effective immediately. The appointment strengthens the company’s regional commercial leadership as the advertising industry continues to evolve around media, technology, data, and commerce.
Chanana will be responsible for expanding the adoption of Omnicom Media’s commercial solutions across the Asia Pacific region. His work will focus on helping agencies and clients make greater use of the company’s data-driven capabilities and integrated offerings.
His appointment comes at a time when brands are increasingly looking for advertising solutions that go beyond media buying. Companies are placing greater emphasis on connecting marketing activity with data, commerce, technology, and measurable business results.
Expanding Omnicom Media’s Commercial Solutions
In his new role, Chanana will lead the expansion and adoption of Omnicom Media’s commercial portfolio across Asia. This includes Omnet, Orion, and Outcomes, which support the company’s broader approach to data-driven media and business performance.
Chanana will share the regional commercial portfolio with Simon Flaxman, who will continue to lead the Australia and New Zealand business.
He will also work closely with commercial leaders across individual markets to increase adoption of Omnicom Media’s capabilities and strengthen relationships with agencies, clients, and partners throughout the region.
The role gives Chanana responsibility for helping translate Omnicom Media’s technology and data capabilities into commercial opportunities across one of the advertising industry’s most important growth markets.
Bringing Deep Experience in Media and AdTech
Chanana brings more than 20 years of experience across the media and advertising industry. His career has included senior commercial and strategic roles at several global advertising technology companies.
Before joining Omnicom Media, he spent nearly a decade working across businesses including Unruly, Twitch, and PubMatic. His experience spans commercial strategy, digital advertising, programmatic media, partnerships, and adtech.
That background gives Chanana experience on both sides of the relationship between advertising technology and agency strategy.
It also positions him to help Omnicom Media navigate a market where clients increasingly expect technology investments to translate into clear commercial outcomes.
Why Data and Integration Matter More
The advertising industry is becoming increasingly connected to technology and data. Brands are no longer looking only for campaigns that generate reach or engagement. They are also looking for systems that can connect media activity with customer behavior, commerce, and business performance.
This shift is increasing demand for integrated solutions that can bring different parts of the marketing ecosystem together.
Omnicom Media is positioning its commercial offerings around this changing demand, with Chanana expected to play a central role in expanding those capabilities across Asia Pacific.
Paul Shepherd, Chief Commercial and Trading Officer at Omnicom Media APAC, said Chanana’s combination of adtech experience and agency background would help the company strengthen its commercial position across the region.
Shepherd also highlighted the growing opportunity for Omnicom’s commercial products as brands look for integrated solutions that can deliver measurable business outcomes.
A Strategic Opportunity Across Asia Pacific
Asia Pacific represents a major opportunity for advertising and technology companies as businesses across the region continue to increase their investment in digital platforms, data, and technology-enabled marketing.
For Omnicom Media, expanding its commercial leadership in the region could help the company capture more of this demand.
Chanana will work with market-level commercial leaders to identify new opportunities and support the wider adoption of Omnicom Media’s data-driven solutions.
His experience across adtech, programmatic advertising, retail media, and digital ecosystems could also help the company respond to the different needs of advertisers across individual Asian markets.
Connecting Technology With Business Outcomes
Chanana said his new role will allow him to build on his experience in global adtech while contributing to Omnicom’s broader digital transformation strategy.
He highlighted the company’s talent, technology capabilities, and focus on integrated solutions as important advantages as the advertising market continues to change.
For clients, the goal is increasingly about more than simply adopting new technology. They want advertising systems that can help them understand customers, improve decision-making, and ultimately generate stronger business results.
That makes commercial leadership an increasingly important part of how media companies compete.
Strengthening Omnicom Media’s Regional Growth
Chanana’s appointment adds commercial and technology expertise to Omnicom Media’s leadership as the company looks to expand its presence across Asia Pacific.
His combination of agency experience and adtech knowledge could help the company strengthen its relationships with clients while increasing the adoption of its commercial solutions.
As media, commerce, data, and technology continue to converge, Omnicom Media is betting that stronger integration will become increasingly important to brands.
Chanana’s new role reflects that shift and gives him a central position in helping the company pursue new commercial opportunities across the region.
