Publicis Groupe Indonesia has announced a series of senior leadership appointments designed to accelerate growth in one of the world’s most dynamic consumer markets. The move underscores the company’s ambition to unify creative, media, and technology capabilities as it helps brands navigate rapid marketing transformation across Southeast Asia.
A Growth-Focused Leadership Role
At the forefront of these appointments is Chetan Shetty, who has been named Managing Director for Growth, a newly created role. With nearly 20 years of experience spanning creative and media agencies, Shetty has previously held senior leadership positions at McCann, FCB Jakarta, and Wavemaker (GroupM).
His expertise includes launching content divisions, developing influencer strategies, and leading award-winning campaigns for global and regional brands. Shetty’s mandate at Publicis will center on integrating data, media, and content to drive measurable business impact.
According to Sony Nichani, CEO of Publicis Groupe Indonesia, the appointment reflects the company’s focus on transformative leadership:
“In a time of major marketing shifts fuelled by tech innovations and changing consumer behaviours, we’re investing in leaders who drive transformative integration for our clients. Chetan’s expertise in content and media will further unify our Groupe capabilities and help clients achieve outstanding business results.”
Shetty shared his enthusiasm for the role, emphasizing the importance of measurable impact in today’s evolving market:
“It’s not just about capturing attention—it’s about turning that attention into real, measurable results. With a strong connected culture and trusting client relationships, we can create truly impactful work that resonates and drives growth.”
Strengthening Creative Capabilities
Publicis Groupe also announced two key senior creative hires at Leo Indonesia:
- Nadia Yuliani joins as Senior Creative Director, returning to the agency nearly 20 years after starting her career there as a copywriter. Her experience spans FMCG, telecommunications, personal care, and food and beverage, and she will collaborate closely with William Mathovani, Creative Partner at Leo Indonesia.
- Carlos Guto Kono also steps in as Senior Creative Director, bringing international experience from Leo Mexico, Publicis Brazil, and assignments across São Paulo, Seoul, and Germany. With 25 years in industries including FMCG, automotive, e-commerce, and food and beverage, Kono will report directly to Ravi Shanker, Chief Creative Officer of Leo Indonesia and Publicis Groupe Indonesia.
Driving Regional and Global Ambitions
Together, these appointments highlight Publicis Groupe’s intention to position Indonesian creativity on a global stage. Serving a domestic market of more than 280 million people, the agency sees significant opportunities to shape not only local campaigns but also regional marketing strategies across Southeast Asia.
The company noted that these leadership additions will support its growth momentum and ensure clients benefit from a seamless blend of creativity, data, and technology.
Why It Matters
Executive appointments are more than just organizational changes — they signal strategic direction. Publicis Groupe Indonesia’s decision to add growth-focused and creative leadership demonstrates how agencies are adapting to shifting consumer behaviors, rising digital expectations, and the need for measurable marketing ROI.
By strengthening its leadership bench, Publicis is positioning itself to help brands in Indonesia — and across Asia — compete in an increasingly connected, tech-driven marketplace.
