Rapid7 is strengthening its leadership bench in the Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) region with the appointment of Simon Ractliffe as its new General Manager, signaling a renewed focus on regional growth, partner engagement, and customer-led security outcomes.
Ractliffe joins Rapid7 after serving as Regional Managing Director for Australia, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia at Secureworks. In his new role, he will be responsible for leading Rapid7’s commercial strategy and operations across APJ, with a mandate to build momentum across customers, partners, and go-to-market teams.
Based in the region, Ractliffe will focus on deepening relationships with enterprise customers and channel partners, while helping organizations shift away from reactive cybersecurity approaches toward more proactive, risk-driven security programs. Rapid7 has been increasingly positioning its platform around helping businesses reduce risk earlier in the attack lifecycle, and Ractliffe’s appointment aligns with that strategy.
With more than 30 years of leadership experience spanning cybersecurity, cloud, and AI-driven technologies, Ractliffe brings a broad enterprise perspective to the role. Prior to Secureworks, his career included senior roles at Qualys, IBM, and Singtel, where he worked closely with large organizations navigating complex security, infrastructure, and digital transformation challenges.
Rapid7 Chief Commercial Officer Allan Peters said Ractliffe’s experience and regional insight make him well suited to lead the company’s next phase of growth in APJ.

The appointment also comes as Rapid7 sharpens its focus on partner-led growth in the region. Earlier this week, APJ Channel Director David Quist highlighted that the company has been refining how it engages with partners, including simplifying program requirements and improving regional alignment to better support partners on the ground.
With cyber threats continuing to evolve and regulatory pressure increasing across APJ markets, Rapid7 sees an opportunity to help organizations modernize how they manage exposure, prioritize risk, and operationalize security at scale. Ractliffe’s leadership is expected to play a central role in translating that strategy into execution across the region.
