The race to build AI infrastructure is accelerating, and investors continue to place large bets on companies powering the next generation of artificial intelligence.
Together AI has raised $800 million in Series C funding, lifting its valuation to $8.3 billion. The new investment reflects growing demand for AI infrastructure as enterprises increasingly adopt open-source AI models for production workloads.
Founded in 2022, Together AI provides cloud infrastructure designed specifically for AI, allowing organizations to access high-performance NVIDIA GPU clusters and other computing resources needed to train and run large AI models.
Strong Investor Support
The latest funding round was led by Aramco Ventures.
Additional investors include Vista Equity Partners, General Catalyst, Emergence Capital, NVIDIA, March Capital, Pegatron, and S Ventures, the venture capital arm of SentinelOne.
The new round follows Together AI’s $305 million Series B completed roughly 16 months ago, when the company was valued at $3.3 billion. Its valuation has now more than doubled as demand for AI infrastructure continues to surge.
Riding the Open-Source AI Wave
Together AI says enterprises are increasingly choosing open-source AI models as a cost-effective alternative to proprietary foundation models.
Instead of paying premium pricing for closed AI services, many businesses are turning to specialized cloud providers that offer flexible infrastructure for deploying open-source models at scale.
According to the company, this trend has helped drive annual bookings beyond $1.15 billion as of its most recent quarter.
Thousands of organizations now use Together AI’s platform, including AI startups such as Cursor, Cognition, and Decagon.
Building the Infrastructure Behind Enterprise AI
Together AI focuses on providing the computing power needed to develop, fine-tune, and deploy AI applications.
Its platform gives developers and enterprises access to large GPU clusters optimized for demanding AI workloads while supporting a growing ecosystem of open-source models.
As AI adoption expands across industries, infrastructure providers have become increasingly important in helping organizations scale AI applications efficiently.
AI Infrastructure Remains a Hot Investment Area
Investor interest in AI infrastructure companies continues to grow.
Recent funding rounds for companies such as Upscale AI and TensorWave highlight increasing demand for cloud platforms that specialize in AI computing.
Rather than competing directly with foundation model developers, companies like Together AI are building the infrastructure that enables businesses to run AI workloads more efficiently and at lower cost.
Experienced Founders Driving Growth
Together AI was co-founded by Vipul Ved Prakash, Percy Liang, and Ce Zhang.
Before launching Together AI, Prakash founded social media search company Topsy, which was acquired by Apple in 2013.
Liang, a Stanford University professor, and Zhang, an associate professor affiliated with ETH Zürich and the University of Chicago, bring extensive expertise in artificial intelligence research.
With fresh capital and rising enterprise demand, Together AI is positioning itself as one of the leading infrastructure providers supporting the rapid expansion of enterprise AI.
