When leaders talk about the future of enterprise learning, the conversation increasingly points to AI tools that enhance—not replace—human capability. One of the fastest-rising players in this space is Yoodli, a Seattle-based communication training startup founded by former Google X engineer Varun Puri and ex-Apple engineer Esha Joshi. The company has now crossed a valuation of more than $300 million, tripling its worth in just six months.
Yoodli’s rapid growth follows a $40 million Series B round led by WestBridge Capital, with additional support from Neotribe and Madrona. Combined with its previous funding, the company has raised nearly $60 million to scale its AI communication coaching platform built for modern enterprises.
A Shift Toward AI That Supports People, Not Replaces Them
Unlike AI systems designed to automate tasks, Yoodli focuses on guided practice and human-centered learning. Its platform uses AI-driven role-play simulations for real-world scenarios—sales calls, leadership coaching, interviews, feedback sessions—and offers structured, repeatable practice employees can learn from.
This approach has resonated strongly with organizations. Yoodli is now used by large enterprise customers such as Google, Snowflake, Databricks, RingCentral, Sandler Sales, and by major coaching firms like Franklin Covey and LHH, which integrate Yoodli into their own training methodologies.
Puri’s vision for the platform comes from personal experience. After moving to the U.S. at 18, he struggled with communication confidence—a challenge he later realized was common among students and professionals globally. What began as a public-speaking practice tool has now expanded into enterprise enablement, partner certification, and go-to-market training.
Moving Beyond Passive Learning
Traditional corporate training relies heavily on videos or long-form reading materials. Yoodli argues that these methods don’t translate into real mastery.
“In the old world, you’d watch long videos at 4x speed to get the training done, but that doesn’t mean you’ve learned anything,” Puri has said. Yoodli replaces this with active simulation, real-time feedback, and AI-powered analytics that track improvement over time.
The startup emphasizes that AI is not meant to replace human coaches. Instead, the platform is designed to get learners “from zero to eight,” while the final steps—authenticity, vulnerability, and real emotional nuance—still come from human mentors.
Enterprise-Ready Architecture
Yoodli runs on multiple large language models, including support for Google Gemini and OpenAI GPT. Enterprises can embed it directly into internal software, while individual users access it via web browser—intentionally avoiding a mobile app to keep the training workflow simple.
The platform supports major global languages, widening its reach into multinational organizations.
Between its Series A and Series B rounds, the company saw a 50% increase in total practice hours and 900% growth in recurring revenue, signaling strong adoption.
Scaling Globally and Hiring Big
The company has also made key senior hires from Tableau, Salesforce, and Remitly, strengthening its enterprise credibility. Funding from the latest round will go toward product expansion, AI R&D, and global growth—especially across the U.S. and Asia-Pacific.
With about 40 employees today, Yoodli plans to scale rapidly as demand for AI-powered communication training accelerates across enterprise learning and professional development.
